There are over 17 midwives you can meet with and choose from in Burlington. So you can decide what is best for you and your family. You will start by meeting with your midwives about once a month until about 28 weeks. Then every other week from 28-36 weeks, and then weekly until the delivery. These visits can be in person or virtually, whatever works best for you and your schedule. You can also bring anyone you want to the appointments, as the midwives want you to feel comfortable and have your team with you and make decisions that best support your birth and pregnancy journey.

Labor and Birth Support

One of your midwives will be with you throughout your entire labor and birth. Then both midwives will attend the delivery, as one midwife will help you with your needs, and the other will help with the baby’s needs. The midwives will work with your birthing team to ensure that you and your baby receive the best care available.

Most of the time, you will only have one midwife. However, at Burlington Midwife, you will have two since there will now be two of you, you and your new baby! After the birth, you will receive four at-home visits in the first ten days. During these visits, the midwife will assess your and the baby’s health. Additionally, they offer breastfeeding support, and help you in any way they can. This care lasts until about 6 weeks after your new little one has arrived. From start to finish, the Burlington Midwives are here to support you and your family in every way they can!
